Beyonce goes hard in Brooklyn

Our reigning queen of the industry has warmed our hearts yet again with another selfless act. Beyonce and her mother Tina Knowles, the flyest mother-daughter duo, has come together and opened a school of cosmetology for women recovering from substance abuse and diagnosed mental illness. The school is called the Beyonce Cosmetology Center. These women are looking for a fresh start and the opportunity to learn a trade in order to change for the better.

The center is in Dumbo, Brooklyn and is located at the Phoenix House. Beyonce Cosmetology School will offer a seven month cosmetology training course to the women of the Phoenix House. Not only has Beyonce invested her blood, sweat and tears into this project but also a pretty penny. She donated her salary from her role in the film Cadillac Records, where she played Etta James, to the Phoenix House even before she opened her cosmetology center.

Good ole B, working to make the world a more beautiful place...literally. What would be your TruGlam contribution to make the world a more beautiful place?
