Good morning glammers,
I haven't decided what to blog about yet and I didn't want my creative juices to go to waste. I am LOVING Polyvore, where has it been all my life!! With things like research papers, PRTs and and not enough hours in the day...I needed these few minutes to be me. Enjoy!!

You Have Just Been Polyvore'd

"It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you, without a dope blog to take to". Okay, so freestyling totally isn't my think but it never hurts to try right? I'll never do that again I promise.

I've been extremely busy with work, school and assisting Lotus PI on the Ed Hardy 1 year anniversary party and birthday celebrating for Christian Audigier. The life of a military fashionista... Anywho, can I just say how much my boyfriend and I are addicted to the glossies?? Everywhere you turn in the flat there's some type of magazine just waiting to be stepped on, sat on or used as a coaster. Last week during our monthly glossie spree, he bought The New Yorker. The good ole New Yorker, filled with articles about things you never even knew existed. Okay, things I never even knew existed. One of those things being Polyvore.

The fashion Gods have answered the prayers of all the fashionistas worldwide. This website is literally playing paper dolls, except now grown ups can do it and not feel guilty. Its amazing the doors technology has opened for us. The database of all the designer bags, jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, belts, dresses, jackets, umbrellas... you name it they have it and if the don't you can add it yourself. Its even shows what the items is, who's its made by and a link to where is can be purchased. Its addictive, almost worse than facebook. I encourage all my fellow bloggers to create an account.

I played around with it myself and this is my own little "set" as they call it.

Be sure to follow me, GlamGuzzie and I would love to see what you guys come up with!!!

INSTANT PUDDING: "Officially An Icon" ??

Boy has it been an eventful day for me. Positive and Productive, just how I like 'em. I must say I was a bit taken aback while on Style.com today and I felt this needed to be addressed. I myself am all for the models!! Especially my models of ethnic backgrounds, love 'em to death everyone from Alek Wek, Liya Kebede, Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell and OFCOURSE Iman. I mean come on now, she goes by one name, how awesome is she. No but seriously, the Style.com article's topic is "Officially An Icon". Umm excuse me, according to whom?? Well I guess to the CFDA. Okay well my next question is, what the heck took them so long?? She's only been around since 1976, she's got 34 years in the modeling game! Tyra hasn't even been around that long and for a little while the media acted like she was the end all be all just because she's the first African-American model to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated. Don't get me wrong, I am in NO WAY knocking Tyra (or any other model that I didn't get to name for that matter) and her accomplishments but does it really take 34 years to give credit where it is due? I can't even begin to list all of her many accomplishments. You can read more about Iman on Wikipedia. Here are a few of my favorite pictures of the beauty icon herself:

I hadn't even planned on blogging about this today but with a story like this I definitely think this will suffice for today.

What do you think about it taking 34 years for Iman to be recognized as a Beauty Icon? Do you agree with this? Is there anyone else you would like to see get some recognition for all the triumphs and hard work in the fashion industry?

Scent 101

For as long as I can remember I've always been mindful of how I smell. I remember "borrowing" my cousin's perfumes and spraying them once I got to school... sorry coco! Growing up it was all about Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works. Who didn't have Love Spell and Sweet Pea? I must say I am sick to death of both of my old faves. I still to this day have a dresser covered with all types of scented lotions and sprays, I never liked smelling the same everyday.

It was always important to me that no one smelled like me for that day. I wasn't the type of girl to share my body sprays with my girlfriends before heading out to the movies, the mall or a basketball game. They'd try to fight me to the death but I would NOT budge. My excuse would always be "it might not mix well with your body chemistry." Yes, I was 16 telling my friends what smelled good on them. I must have definitely been on to something way back when because even Lyn Harris, founder of luxury perfume house Harris Miller, agrees with my pet peeves. She recently did an interview with Aquarius magazine on her top ten tips on picking scents 101. I picked my three favorite to share with you:

1. "Nobody should have a signature scent. Treat your fragrance like an accessory, its got to evolve with the seasons. Create a wardrobe of fragrances; you should have at least three per season."

2. "If you can't smell your fragrance, you need to change it. If you wear the same fragrance everyday of your life it won't work for you. Change it up."

3. "My favorite place to wear a fragrance is on the decolletage. When you greet someone its the first place they smell. You'll also get regular bursts of it when its sprayed on your chest. Fragrances are about being sensual, so dab behind the ears always works. Warm areas on your body life behind the knees, also bring out the aromas of your fragrance more."

My favorite scents for this season are Kim Kardashian by Kim Kardashian, CLEAN Outdoor Shower Fresh, and SJP NYC. Sorry ladies, I still don't share so you're going to have to buy your own.

What are your favorite scents on a daily basis? Did you find that you already do the things Lyn Harris suggested? What scents make you smile?
